Professional-grade form coaching used to cost $80/hr. We built it into your browser camera.
Most people who lift weights never get real-time form feedback. Hiring a personal trainer costs hundreds of dollars a month. Gym mirrors only show you one angle. Wearables tell you steps, not form.
Stream AI uses computer vision to give you what a trainer sees: every joint angle, every alignment issue, every rep phase — in real time, in your browser, free.
Every form rule is grounded in biomechanics — joint angles, segment ratios, and alignment norms from exercise science research. We don't guess; we measure.
Form errors that arrive 3 seconds late don't help. Our coaching triggers the moment a break is detected — because the rep is still happening.
Pose detection runs entirely in your browser. Your camera feed is never sent to a server. Landmark data stays local unless you opt in to sync.
Stream AI started as a question: "What if your camera could tell you what a trainer sees?" Most fitness tech tracks steps or heart rate — passive metrics that don't help you lift better. The thing that actually improves your training is knowing, in real time, when your form breaks.
The first version used a machine learning classifier trained on synthetic movement data. It failed — the model learned camera artifacts, not biomechanics, and classified every real-world rep as "good form." So we went back to the drawing board.
The current system uses geometric rules derived from biomechanics literature: specific joint angle thresholds, segment alignment constraints, and phase detection logic for each of the 11 supported exercises. It's the same class of approach used by physical therapy software and sports science labs — but running in a browser tab.
Stream AI is being built by Seth Cohen under Stream AI Research LLC, as part of an entrepreneurship program pursuing an early-stage technology grant. The goal isn't just a product — it's a platform that removes the expertise barrier from strength training.
Stream AI is a platform, not just a rep counter. Here's the full vision.
Geometric constraint engine checks joint angles and segment alignment every frame. Voice coaching, quality-gated rep counting, 1RM tracking, and the PUMP AI coach are live at streamaiworkout.com.
Using the live app to collect real landmark sequences with quality scores. Training regression models on actual user data (not synthetic) for each exercise to achieve 94%+ accuracy on real-video form classification.
Native iOS/Android app with offline pose detection. Expanding from 11 exercises to 30+. Cable machines, Olympic lifts, bodyweight movements. AI-generated personalized programs.
Partner with gyms to provide mounted camera setups for hands-free tracking. Multi-angle analysis. Automated weight progression suggestions. Group class support. Barbell load detection via computer vision.
A platform where any athlete — from beginner to competitive — has access to coaching intelligence that was previously available only to elite athletes with full-time coaching staff. Stream AI becomes the infrastructure layer for strength sports.
The interest form asks what features you'd want to see, which exercises matter most, and what would make Stream AI a tool you'd actually use every day. Every response directly influences the roadmap.
